“A walk about Paris will provide lessons in history, beauty, and in the point of Life.” – Thomas Jefferson
Paris is one of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever seen in my life. I got to stay there for 5 days back in 2013 with my mom. This time around (summer 2017) , I got to go on a day trip from London to Paris with my husband. It is popularly known as the city of Love. Everything about the place emanate romance, From the picturesque architecture, the lights, the food, down to the language, you’d just want to say Je T’aime over and over again.
Touristy stuff: Eiffel tower (If you have time, go inside the building for a good view of the city and the unique experience of riding the elevator in a slant.), Louvre museum (The museum is humongous! Try to save one day to view all the art collections.) Notre Dame, Arc De Triomphe (You can access this structure closely via underground), Love Bridge (Doesn’t exist anymore), Champs Elysees, Seine river, Riding the Hop on hop off bus (so worth it! We purchased it through viator. Click here to purchase), Seeing the city lights at night(The Eiffel tower shimmers at night).
Favorite area to shop in: Louis Vuitton (hehe, not so much of a favorite but it’s a must stop if you’re into luxury handbags. I’m not into it but just the idea that it originated in Paris is quite tempting plus it costs less for tourists and you will get your Value-Added tax back in a couple of weeks. Beware of long lines and popular items being out of stock.)
Favorite alternative place to eat: Cafe De Lest (I can never forget the seasoned escargot. It’s near the Gare de l’Est station), Cafe George V (Their Beef Bourguignon and some type of bbq ribs are good), eating a baguette or crepe and just lounging around Champ De Mars
